Seed Bombs Ahoy! New Workshop Open for Bookings

Back by popular demand, on Friday 16th February 2024, Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility will be hosting its second poppy seed bomb making workshop aimed at local children aged 5-15 and their parents and guardians.

The workshop provides an opportunity to learn about sustainable waste management and materials reuse, while encouraging the planting of wildflowers to support biodiversity. All seeds to be used have been collected from poppies grown on-site.

The session is free to attend and will run for approximately 90 minutes – children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Refreshments will be available free of charge. As the seed bombs will take a while to dry properly, attendees are requested to bring an old ice cream container, biscuit tin, or similar, to transport them home safely.

Dan Pearson, General Manager at Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility, said:

“Having witnessed so many kids enjoying and engaging with the event the first time around, we’re excited to have the opportunity to hold this second poppy seed bomb workshop at our Visitor Centre. We're dedicated to connecting with the local community to help educate people about sustainable waste management in the region and are continuing to find new and fun ways to engage and educate residents on how we can all use available resources in inventive ways.”
